Membership Overview
The Pennsylvania Coalition of Charter Schools has four classes of membership; Charter Membership, Future School Associate Membership, Coalition Advocate Associate Membership, and Business Associate Membership.
- Charter Membership:
- Charter membership includes any person duly appointed as the official representative of a Pennsylvania charter public school which pays membership dues.
- A charter member shall hold membership so long as he/she is appointed as the official representative of a qualified Pennsylvania charter public school.
- Charter members shall be voting members.
- If a charter member no longer represents a qualified charter public school by virtue of the decision of its Board of Trustees, this school shall appoint another person to fill in the vacancy.
- Membership dues for the PA Coalition of Charter Schools for Charter Members:
- Initial or First Year: $1,000
- Subsequent Years: $725 minimum*
* Charter membership renewal dues are based upon the student count reported to PDE for the previous year. Cyber schools dues are calculated as follows, student count multiplied by $4.00 with a minimum of $725. Non-Cyber schools dues are calculated as follows, student count multiplied by $3.00 with a minimum of $725.
- Future School Associate Membership:
- Approved but not yet operating charter schools can join PCCS as Future School Associates.
- Future School Associate members are entitled to the same services and information as Charter Members, but do not have voting privileges within the organization. The Associate Membership is also available to small charter schools with an enrollment of 50 students or less. This entitles the school to the services and information of PCCS, but places the school membership in a none voting category.
- The fee for Associate Membership is $300 per year.
- Coalition Advocate Associate Membership:
- Any person or non-profit organization that believes in the mission of charter schools in Pennsylvania is encouraged to join at this level to ensure a strong and diverse Coalition.
- The fee for Coalition Advocate Associate Membership is $400 per year.
- Business Associate Membership:
- Any business or non-profit organization that provides services to the charter school committee will want to join at this level. A number of benefits are designed for these special supporters.
- The fee for Business Associate Membership is $500 per year.
