PCCS "Start a Charter School" Workshop
August 9, 2006
Interest in starting public charter schools remains high in Pennsylvania. As recently as this past February, forty-two groups submitted charter school planning grant applications to the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
As of this past week, only eight planning grants, totaling slightly more than $300,000, were awarded. This is so, even though a recent PCCS survey of current charter schools reveals the existence of an astounding number of children on waiting lists.
To help planning grant recipients and any group that may be interested in starting a charter school, the Pennsylvania Coalition of Charter Schools is hosting the annual "Start a Charter School" Workshop
