Position Status: Full-Time
Salary or Rate: Salary is commensurate with experience ($90,000 - $115,000). Bonus Structure TBD.
Job Description:
The Founding Principal/CEO will be responsible for the planning and organization necessary to have a successful school opening in Fall 2008. In the months before opening and during the first year of operation the Principal/CEO will work closely with a small staff to implement the mission of PAACS. The Principal/CEO will be responsible for the hiring of all faculty and staff, as well as their participation in a professional development program during the first year. The Principal/CEO will be responsible for effective communication between the Board of Trustees and the students, faculty, staff, parents, and community.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
- M.Ed. from accredited university, or B.A. in Education and M.A.
- Teaching/principal certification
- 3 years successful teaching experience, preferably in low income communities
- Proven track record in successfully leading and directing staff and/or teams.
- 3 years successful Elementary/Middle school principal experience
Preferred Skills
- Bilingual in English/Spanish
- Experience or familiarity with International Baccalaureate Organization's Primary Years Programme
